Counting Miracles

Count the Dewdrops, Count the Waves, Count the Stars…

Count… and Count… and Count the Miracles…

This is an image of beads which are used to count the positive blessings in a person’s life. If one can think of ten personal blessings, it can change one’s mood. When someone takes the time to think of a hundred positive things, it can change one’s perspective on life. These thoughts can include favourite tastes, smells, sights, sounds. For example, the taste of raspberries, a child’s smile, a leaf dancing in the breeze… Once we focus on the positive everyday things that we often take for granted, we discover the wonder of the world around us.

Layers of Understanding

Understanding is a virtue requiring generously giving of time, patience, respect and gentleness. Understanding is digging deep beyond the obvious.

One has to travel through the emotions of listening with the heart, hearing the spoken and unspoken...

In the image, the colours of the layers symbolise characteristics: green is kindness, yellow is appreciation, gold is forgiveness, blue is truth, lilac is compassion… All of these ingredients (and more) are necessary for true understanding.

The Journey

Walking a Path that is Only Your Own…

This drawing seeks to make us reflect on our journey in life…to ask ourselves the question: am I on my own path following my own unique truth or simply following the crowd? We need to continually ask this question of ourselves so that we are not swept away on the rollercoaster of life and left with regrets when we arrive at our destination.

"The Field" Quick View

“The Field”

This etching was inspired by a field outside Knockroghery village in Roscommon. A solitary oak tree sits on the horizon which has thrived on its own down through the decades. When I saw it, I considered it a symbol of strength and resilience determined to thrive despite its isolation.

Available in 3 sizes and in a greeting card
